Association Bounty Fort George Tubuai

Fort George is a private historic site. His story is linked to that of Mutiny on the Bounty.
The site of Fort George marks the first refuge of the mutineers, it was built in 1789, under the command of Fletcher Christian. During your visit, you will be able to discover the cultural space of the fort with its six museographic panels, showcases that exhibit objects and facsimiles typical of the Austral Islands. An orientation table made of enamelled lava stone allows you to discover the old chiefdoms and their relations with the chief of the mutineers. Guided tours of the history of the Mutiny on the Bounty are offered during school holidays. They are made by reservation by sending an email or a text message.
