The pineapple road is a mythical route on the island of Moorea.
The pineapple trail is a well-known route on the island of Moorea. Not a paved road, but easily accessible in an ATV, a quad, by bike or on foot. The route links the island's two main bays: Cook and Opunohu. You'll pass a few houses, but as its name suggests, the pineapple trail crosse a plantation which grows pineapples destined for the Rotui fruit juice factory at the foot of Mount Rotui and for sale in the island's shops and supermarkets. Pineapples are the main fruit grown on the island and their famed sweetness and fruity taste make them perfect for the fruit juice sold under the brand Rotui. The pineapple trail is also an opportunity to discover the luxuriant, dense vegetation in the heart of the island of Moorea.
