Place Vai'ete

Place Vai'ete is situated on Papeete's seafront. During the day it is a pleasant place to take a rest and let the sea breeze cool you down. A popular place for youngsters to play, chat with each other and even dance. There are public conveniences and a free car park . A "Fare pote'e" houses an exhibition of the work of local craftsmen and women.
In the evening, the atmosphere changes completely as a dozen roulottes (food trucks) open for business. A large and varied choice of dishes are available: chinese food, pancakes, pizzas, fish and meat dishes. There’s something to suit all tastes and the prices are very reasonable.
