Captain Taina

Native of the island, our family has been sharing the wonders of Moorea's lagoon and its wildlife for more than 20 years. Come aboard for a snorkeling experience in unique landscapes with a passionate crew.
The tour begins in Moorea's turtle sanctuary. You'll swim among them and maybe even meet Ohure Pio. The dean of the sanctuary, this turtle was rescued by Captain Taina herself in 2007. Since then, more than twenty turtles have been living alongside us. Keep your eyes opened for beautiful coral, all kinds of fish and even eagle rays.
Then you’ll discover submerged sculptures and their history. These statues, known as “Tiki”, are very important in our culture, particularly on a spiritual level. Mask and snorkel on, follow the guide in this encounter with Polynesian gods.
For the last stop, relax on a magnificent sandbank from which you’ll be able to stand and meet friendly stingrays and black tip reef sharks.

We focus on the animal’s wellbeing by visiting them during the less crowded moments and by navigating at a calm pace.

For swimmers, even inexperienced, the tour on our standard boat is perfect.
If you’re less comfortable in the water, we invite you to book a trip on our glass bottom boat, the “Honu Kea”. You’ll be able to fully observe the seabed from the boat in the company of the captain, while the rest of the group gets in the water with the guide.

The adventure continues with an unforgettable lunch on our family’s private motu (islet). We’ll serve you a local menu featuring fresh products from our island. First, a tasting of Moorea’s rum, accompanied by local pineapple juice! Then, you’ll take a cooking class for the famous Tahitian raw fish salad called “poisson cru”. Finally, it’s time to eat! Enjoy our barbecued chicken and fish brochettes, with rice and homemade sauce, then seasonal fruits for dessert. Depending on what our fishermen bring in (salmon of the gods, Meka or swordfish), you’ll enjoy fish freshly caught in our waters.
Special meal for vegan or other specific diet possible on request.
After lunch, appreciate the calm and tranquility in the shade, on the beach or discover more by swimming in the coral garden around the Motu.

We look forward to sharing with you this authentic experience of Moorea’s underwater world.
