Ti'i De Taaoa Et Site De Upeke

The historic center of the marquises
Upeke archeological site is considered to be one of the most important ceremonial centers in French Polynesia. It has a vast communal space for dancing named Tohua and several paepae stone platforms. Situated in the valley of Taaoa, in the southwest of the island of HIva Oa, the site is also home to a tiki whose faced is carved in the stone, which is unique to the ti’i of Taaoa.
