Getting there and getting around in Manihi
A 1 hour flight from Tahiti takes you directly to this little haven of peace in the Tuamotu Islands. The airport is on a motu and you must reserve your transfer to the village of Turipaoa in advance, either through your travel agent or through your accommodations. The only road on the atoll runs along the shore for just a few miles and you can easily explore the atoll by foot, bike or motor scooter. It’s also possible to rent a car if you prefer. You can also charter a yacht, or rent a canoe or motor boat in the village.
