The Marquesas Islands are located more than 900 miles northeast of Tahiti and are spread over twelve islands, of which only six are inhabited..
Getting around in the Marquesas Islands
You should organize your transfer from the airport with your travel agent or directly with your accommodation. For traveling around while you’re there, you can generally rent a four-wheel drive car. The roads are often very steep and sometimes in poor condition, so it’s preferable to go on a guided tour to explore the island. A boat trip is the best way to see some of the majestic bays and the impressive, rocky coastine.
