Bora Bora is said to have the most beautiful lagoon in the world, so you’ll want to spend as much time as possible exploring it. A picnic on a motu, a snorkeling or diving excursion to discover the magnificent underwater scenery, or a romantic cruise at sunset, …there are lots of reasons to take to the water in Bora Bora.
1
Sunset cruise
There are few more romantic experiences than a sunset cruise in Bora Bora. Sipping a glass of champagne on the deck of a catamaran with the special person in your life, as you sail across the world’s most beautiful lagoon. Passing next to superb coral gardens in the crystal clear, turquoise water, and admiring the magnificent view over Mount Otemanu, as the sun sinks slowly on the horizon, in an, explosion of red, orange and gold.
2
Tour of the lagoon with a picnic on a motu
A picnic excursion to one of Bora Bora’s many motu is a unique and unforgettable experience. After a tour of the lagoon, you visit one of these small islets for a typical picnic lunch, served sitting at the water’s edge. On the menu, poisson cru, grilled fish, banana in grated coconut…The perfect way to enjoy the delicious cuisine of French Polynesia.
3
Freediving excursion on the lagoon
Freediving is a kind of compromise between scuba diving and snorkeling. When you freedive in Bora Bora’s coral garden, you’ll swim among rays, sea turtles and multitudes of tropical fish. And if you’re lucky, a few dolphins might even drop by to say hello.
4
A cultural tour of the lagoon
The ocean has an important role in Polynesian culture, and a cultural tour of the lagoon is an opportnuity to learn more about the relationship the islanders have with the sea that surrounds them. You can learn how to paddle a va’a outrigger canoe and your guide will tell you about the history of Bora Bora, which was once named vavau, after an ancient warrior.
5
Glass-bottom boat excursion
Explore the seabed and admire the rich and varied marine life of the lagoon, without getting wet! Just sit and watch as tropical fish, sea turtles, rays and multicolored coral pass beneath the boat in perfect clarity. Don’t worry, the bottom of the boat is made of tempered glass (or safety glass) which is much stronger and more resistant than ordinary glass.
6
A romantic photo cruise
Pictures taken by a professional photographer are the perfect souvenirs of your honeymoon, wedding or romantic vacation in Bora Bora. In the background you’ll have the majestic Mount Otemanu, the white sandy beaches of a motu, the turquoise and blue lagoon, or the glorious reds and golds of the setting sun. They’ll add an exotic South Sea Island touch to your Instagram page!
7
Cruise on a solar powered catamaran
For a unique and eco-friendly experience, take a cruise on the lagoon on a solar powered catamaran. Enjoy first-class service as you visit some of the most beautiful parts of the lagoon, without leaving the slightest hint of a carbon footprint..
